Sorry Sensei. Although too late, a few words for your family from Greece: Sensei Takaatsu Nishimura along with other instructors that left Japan to teach Karate do were the best Ambassadors Japan could ever sent to the world. During his stay in Greece he taught us dignity, self discipline and peace of mind. He and he alone was the cause that I followed the same path many years ago. For this I am eternally grateful.Rest in Peace.

Very sad to hear of the passing of dear Taka. Such a supportive and loving father to one of my oldest and best friends, Emmy. I have many memories of his lovely nature as a child, teenager and adult. I would love to share in the nori and marvel at the little gifts hed bring back from Japan during his trips there when we were kids. During our teenage and young adult years, Taka would always be available to come and pick us up from anywhere at anytime of night. So many times I can remember Emmy saying, Ill just call Dad, which was incredible to me as it was often way past midnight. Whilst visiting the Nishimura household, he was always interested in how me and my family were and his unexpected one-liners often had us laughing. All my love and sympathy to dear Robyn, Tania, Joh, Kimi and Emmy and to all his close friends, family and colleagues whose lives have no doubt been made all the better for his presence in them. Deepest condolences, from Laura, Greg, Maia, Miro and Lila.
Nicholas Herriman — 13 October 2021
My deepest condolences to the family and friends of my karate 'grandfather'. He was such a kind, gentle, and patient teacher for us. The first image that comes to mind is a student who lost in a sparring match. Nishimura Shihan quietly called this young person over to comfort and, I guess, encourage the kid. My three kids and I have been graded by Nishimura Shihan. He had the ability to connect with all of us. Rest in peace. Oss Shihan.

Many years ago, I wrote a light hearted story for a web site about Karate widows and what they have sacrificed and endured on behalf of their karate ka partners. I did not write one on karate orphans as at the time I was unaware of the impact I had on my children. Missed birthdays, graduations, family holidays etc. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all for the time your dad has given us as a group, and me as an individual.Osu.
