Peter Fensham was a much respected staff member when I joined the ASCM in 1959. When I became General Secretary of the ASCM in 1970, which was a time of significant ferment and change, he was one of the few seniors to increase his presence, taking on the role of Chair He gave us firm and careful leadership in that time.
