Family Message

Elena and Diego invite you to celebrate the life of their mum, Clare del Mercato, on Thursday 26 September 2024 at 3pm, at Elwood Bathers, 15 Elwood Foreshore, Elwood 3184. We’d love you to join us afterwards for a cup of tea or glass of champagne at the same venue.

Mum lived a life of curiosity and compassion and we will forever be proud to be her children.

In this vein, Mum, like her husband Richard before her, has donated her body to the University of Melbourne’s anatomy department so that students and researchers can continue their learning. There will thus be no coffin and we will instead celebrate her life with elements of a catholic service and music.

There is paid parking directly out front but it’s not cheap, so if you are happy to walk a little, the side streets opposite have free street parking.

For those who cannot attend in person, the memorial will be live streamed via the link in the grey box below. It will also be available as a recording for our family in Italy and those travelling, to view if they wish.
