Thinking of you Meredith and Justin and family. Great service and superb speeches - great montage of photos which showed family life over the years, and much of what I didn't see - there were some good times in the 80s when our families overlapped in Perth. Fond memories of staying at Shelley in early 81 before Vic & Bill arrived in country. I also remember when Uncle Pete hired a truck one day, and I helped him move furniture, to Two Rocks from memory (he gave me twenty bucks which was a real thrill too). Give me a ring if you are passing through Brisbane, and I will catch up with the Melbourne crowd next time I am down.

Many rich experiences from my years of knowing Uncle Pete - summer golf days at Two Rocks and his missives on golf etiquette, driving to Two Rocks at pace in the rain in the back seat of the Falcon, and his vocal wrangling of Justin after meals to clean up (Justin was always somewhere else). After Joan's passing, Pete made an effort to catch up with me and my family in Sydney as he continued to enjoy life on his cruises out of Sydney Harbour - it was a pleasure to introduce them as he had a genuine interest in the kids and their thinking.

Pete I am going to miss you. You were a part of my life since childhood. I won't forget the mad family lunches at Shelley - with Mindy underfoot - while Joan made exotic salads and other delights in the kitchen under Hazel's supervision and you were holding court about politics, the state of the education system and (in winter) the footy while we kids hooned around the house. Or the trips to Two Rocks with Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' blaring in the car and nobody else allowed to choose music! Thanks for the happy memories of the 80s and 90s and our time together in Melbourne this century when we indulged in your newfound passion for cooking.
