Bill s mother Ruby Turner was a school friend of my mum Alvie Murphy. I recall as a small child visiting the family in Clifton Hill .Bill must have stayed with us in Geelong as a teenager and remember he would sing Danny Boy in a beautiful voice . A friend was a pupil of his in Ocean Grove and he had the girls, especially, in his class supporting Collingwood for all their lives.Mum visited you in ? Sandringham Ann and was happy to see how content you all were. My condolences, sadly I was unable to attend St Johns yesterday .

Anne and team - thoughts and prayers with you all and genuinely sorry to not be there in person. Bill was a real inspiration for us: incredibly generous, great sense of humour, and always so kind. He inspired my own path into the law and my childhood memories are filled with images of he and Anne laughing. A wonderful life and legacy, we named our cheekiest boy after him. Kia kaha.

Val Hendy. I have fond memories of Bill, I was his first client when he started practicing law in Mentone in the early 1960's. Myself and family dealt with Bill over the years for various reasons, and he always referred to me as his first client. He was a very nice man.
